Sea Glass The New Diamond~ How to determine its’ value

Sea Glass The New Diamond

Just like diamonds or other gems seaglass has different grades according to its’ rarity. The age, condition, color, shape and size all are taken into consideration when putting a value on a sea glass shard . Like anything else the more difficult it is to find the greater the demand which interprets into a higher price tag. Sure there are oodles and oodles of sea glass that people have collected most in the common colors of white, green, brown and seafoam and are great for tiling, mosaics, centerpieces and etc., but most are chipped or not completely smoothed and frosted.

Sea glass certainly does have value! There is a wonderful book written by Richard LaMotte called “Pure Sea Glass”. I recommend it to sea glass collectors.

The next time you are at the beach keep your eyes focused on the sand and see what you can find for sea glass and don’t forget to visit my gallery for top quality sea glass jewelry.

I recently found a star-shaped sea glass. It appears to have been a bead to a glass necklace or bracelet. It is mostly clear glass with a green strip of glass down the middle. I cannot find anything like it and no one I talk to knows what it may be worth. I could send a picture via email, if needed. I really would like to know what it’s value is and what I may be able to do with it.
Thanks,
Jessica Harris

Hi Danielle,
Is there a way for me to email the picture to you? I use my phone for pretty much everything and can only send pics via email…
